Happy April Everyone! Did you know that there's a solar eclipse happening this month? That's right, on April 8th, you'll be able to witness this magnificent celestial event! Although we'll only have a partial view of the solar eclipse here in Raton, it's sure to be a marvelous sight, one that we will not see again until 2044. If this sounds interesting to you, be sure to stop by the library any time between now and April 8th to pick up a pair of solar eclipse viewing glasses. These have been generously provided to our patrons by the Friends of the Library, just ask any of us at the front desk and we'd be more than happy to set you up with a pair! We're also attaching a link to an article by the Detroit Free Press that has a tool to help calculate the best viewing times for our area!

What is Blind Date with a Book? A “blind date with a book is like a regular blind date where you don’t know what you’re getting until you get there. But, with books!

We have selected various items from our extensive collection and wrapped them up just for you! If you are feeling daring this is the program for you.

It’s a fun way to be introduced to new authors, books or DVDs that you may have judged by the cover or title.

Try your luck and fall in love with reading again!

 

 

 There will be a change to the calendar. Due to unforeseen circumstances the Aspen Song Kids program on April 6, 2024, will be rescheduled for a later date in May or June. We wish them all well and cannot wait to get them back on our programing schedule.
