We are thinking of creating an after school art program, and want to try for three days a week for students though the remainder of the school year starting the week of January 8th, 2024, and possibly doing an adult class on every other Saturday.  The library will provide the needed materials to keep this 100 % free to all that want to attend. Yeah, We have a volunteer to teach art!!! If you are interested in learning art we are getting groups together now. If you, your child, significant other, or anyone you know would be interested in art classes, send us a message. Please include age of person or person(s) interested, if more than one is interested would you be interested in doing it together or in separate groups or both and a way to contact you once the classes are set up.

A dead man walking by JD Kirk
A remote Highland castle. A dark and stormy night. A murder most haunting. It's Halloween, and when an elderly billionaire is discovered dead in the locked study of his stately Highland home, DCI Jack Logan and his team must race the worsening weather to get to the scene of the crime. There, among the victim's extended family and staff, Jack finds no shortage of suspects. Everyone, it seems, had reason to want the old man dead, and they all have something to hide.Cut off from back-up by the worst storm in decades, and with the cast and crew of a TV ghost hunting show seriously cramping his style, Jack's only chance of solving his latest case is by going back to basics. But the castle's residents won't give him a minute to think. Not even the dead ones...A Dead Man Walking is the 18th book in the number-one-bestselling DCI Jack Logan series from author, JD Kirk, perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, Stuart MacBride, and Agatha Christie.

Non-Fiction
Torture mom by Ryan Green
In July 1965, teenagers Sylvia and Jenny Likens were left in the temporary care of Gertrude Baniszewski, a middle-aged single mother and her seven children.

The Baniszewski household was overrun with children. There were few rules and ample freedom. Sadly, the environment created a dangerous hierarchy of social Darwinism where the strong preyed on the weak.

What transpired in the following three months was both riveting and chilling.

In October 1965, the body of Sylvia Likens was found in the basement of the Baniszewski home, where she had been imprisoned. She was starved, beaten, burned and had the words "I am a prostitute and proud of it" carved into her stomach.

Gertrude Baniszewski oversaw and facilitated the torture and eventual murder of Sylvia Likens. While she played an active role in Sylvia's death, the majority of the abuse was carried out by her children and other neighbourhood youths.

The case shocked the entire nation and would later be described as "The single worst crime perpetuated against an individual in Indiana's history".
